Hello everybody: During this week, we are going to use the colours that  belongs to the red  family: the warm colours.  Using your tempera paints and two different brushes, you have to paint the given drawing, a representation of the famous picture "Bedroom in Arlés" by Vincent Van Gogh. As the previous activity, you have attached it in this file, you only will have to download, print and trace it over a DINA4 worksheet. To colour it, you are going to use a wide range of colours from the red family, (about ten different ones). In the case you don´t have enough, remember that you can obtain different tones by adding more water to the painting pencil or on the contrary, painting directly or even mixing colours in the palette. You can with the same colour obtain two or three different tones. You have to apply the darkest colours in the foreground and the colour has to be clearest near the window. Esta semana trabajaremos el siguiente elemento compositivo básico, la Línea. En las páginas 36 a 38 del libro se explican las distintas maneras en se emplea la Línea en el lenguaje gráfico: desde su uso para escribir (que también es un lenguaje gráfico) y dibujo de formas básicas hasta la abstracción, en la que lo figurativo o realista brilla por su ausencia. En la línea de lo trabajado la semana pasada vamos a usar el elemento básico para crear la sensación de volumen. Eso sí, con una regla fundamental, vamos a tener que utilizar la Línea de manera exclusivamente ortogonal, haciendo ángulos rectos. De este modo aprovecharemos para practicar el uso de escuadra y cartabón, en los que nos apoyaremos para realizar todo el dibujo. Hello everybody. This next week, we are going to do an still life drawing, applying the pointillism technique. This technique uses the apply of colours dots to give colour and shape to the figures. Pointillism have been used by impresionism and expresionism most important artists, such as Vincent Van Gogh, Signat, Seurat, Monet..., due to its great capacity of suggest and convey emotions by means of the special effect that creates its colours. The technique relies on the ability of the eye and mind of the viewer to blend the color spots into a fuller range of tones. It is related to Divisionism , a more technical variant of the method. Divisionism is concerned with color theory, whereas pointillism is more focused on the specific style of brushwork used to apply the paint. Hola de nuevo, esperamos que estéis todos muy bien, relajados y con ánimos creativos. Tras la actividad lúdica de Storyboardthat volvemos a trabajar en las láminas del libro, sobre el PLANO como elemento visual que compone imágenes. Como dejamos pendiente en la semana del 23 al 28 de Marzo seguiremos por la lámina 4 del tema 2: Vamos a tratar de hacer dos composiciones libres, una con formas orgánicas y otra con formas geométricas. Una de ellas deberá guiarse por la LEY DE LA BALANZA y la restante por la LEY DE COMPENSACION DE MASAS, que nos darán las pautas compositivas. Por tanto tenemos temática libre pero la composición de las creaciones habrá de regirse por esas reglas. La LEY DE LA BALANZA (página 39) funciona en base a la ubicación en el centro del/los elemento/s más importante/s. Hello and wellcome back! We are going to start with the Activity 2.1. in the page 77. You will have to paint the representation of the Modigliani´s work of art, by means of lines and textures. Before starting you should have readed the pages 52, 53, 54 and 55. and specially point E. Basic techniques. Stencil. We can do the work in different ways:  Dividing the work of art into two different parts: the characters or natural shapes and the others, or maybe foreground and background (using lines to Paint the foreground and textures to the background or conversely) Don´t forget that you can create sense of depth and volume by means of the line. Varying the thicknesses or even changing the space between the lines and changing it´s colours too for shading You have to trace your lines freehand, and also you can imitate textures using lines. Hola. Bienvenidos de nuevo. Esta semana vamos a comenzar con la actividad 2.7. de la página 55 en la que hay que pintar esa representación de la obra de Modigliani mediante líneas y texturas. Para lo cual, primero deberemos leer atentamente las páginas del libro dedicadas a la línea, 34 y 35 y a la  textura: 36-39. Podemos abordar el trabajo de diferentes maneras:  Dividir la obra en dos partes: línea y textura en base a las formas naturales (los personajes) y artificiales (todo lo demás) Estableciendo una diferencia entre el primer plano y el fondo ( primer plano con líneas y fondo con texturas o a la inversa). No olvidéis que podéis crear volumen mediante la línea, cambiando el grosor de la línea ( de más fina a más gruesa o a la inversa) o cambiando el espaciado de la línea ( de más cerca a más lejos o a la inversa) La línea debe tender a ser paralela aunque se hagan a mano alzada, sin embargo puede tener trazo y de esta forma imitar una textura. Hello, and wellcome back! We are going to start with the Unit 2. Activity 2. Page. 79. This is an Activity about how to use dots, lines, shapes, textures and colours to fill an empty drawing. You will have to divide into six equal parts the drawing that represents Gustave´s Klimt most famous work of art called "the Kiss" and paint it like in the given example, using different ways: dots, lines, shapes, textures and blue family colours. Before starting with the activity, you should have readed the following pages : In the page 50, specially point B. Using dots for shading, and look at the example at the right side of the page.
